Designed LAN Checkout Software Integrated Tools Package Daemon and Central Workstation File Manager for NASA Mission Control Center utilizing interprocess communication mechanisms of queues, shared memory, semaphores, ASTs, and signals on a multiprocessor real-time system, thus providing the capability to execute processes remotely across the ISO LAN utilizing a client-server multithreaded design. Utilized X-Window system to display output from remote non-X-Windows processes onto a central workstation. Ported existing Data Acquisition software from MCC ISO LAN to Space Station Freedom Consolidated Control Center’s TCP/IP LAN utilizing sockets for internode communication. Attended X-Windows / Motif development class. Designed OOP system for OOD of Space Station Freedom Control Center software.

MCI / GTE
Dallas, TX

Designed and implemented real-time fault-tolerant client-server communication system utilizing socket interface to TCP/IP, X.25, and SLIP for MCI and GTE that was to be used as a basis for software destined to monitor 80% of all cellular telephone traffic in the U.S.

Tenneco / El Paso Energy

Designed and implemented UNIX (Sequent, Sun, IBM AIX, HP-UX, SGI) and WinNT/2K portions of in-house cross platform security administration utility (NetworkShop) consisting of UNIX daemon processes and WinNT services utilizing TCP/IP sockets in combination with a DES encryption layer upon the communication protocol for security. This system provided a MS-Windows based common user interface for the administration of security across the various supported platforms. Designed and implemented EPPAGE (El Paso Notification System) which provided company-wide facilities for software developers to generate notification requests via their code which would in turn be routed to the correct on-call support personnel via pager (numeric or alpha messaging), voice synthesis, and email. This system utilized MS SQL Server for storage of all tables, a WinNT service for the receipt of the notification requests and the dissemination of the actual notifications in addition to client APIs for various UNIX and WinNT client platforms. It also provided the on-call personnel with a voice based system that would describe the error condition and which they could utilize to accept or reject the notification. Failure to accept the notification or an explicit rejection would cause the incident to be escalated to the next support level. Designed and built web based administration tool for EPPAGE utilizing HTML, ASPs, JavaScript, and VBScript for the web pages. Responsible for deployment of systems to various machines and web servers. Responsible for development domain (hardware and software) creation, administration, and maintenance.
